Malena Dayen, mezzo-soprano
David Rosenmeyer,

The Becker/Gambles Music Fund of the South Country Education Foundation, Inc., invites you to join them for a benefit concert at the waterfront home of Jai Imbrey and Bob Apfel. They are pleased to present New Aires Tango, a musical collaboration of Argentines Malena Dayen and David Rosenmeyer. A reception with the artists will follow.

Malena Dayen blends a rich mezzo-soprano sound with an innate knowledge of tango music. She studied in Buenos Aires and Mannes College of Music and has performed at Carnegie Hall and Merkin Hall in New York, the Sacred Music Festival in Rome, the Israeli Opera House and with the Teatro Colon Orchestra in Buenos Aires.

David Rosenmeyer is a pianist, composer and conductor working with orchestras in Italy, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Israel and Argentina. Their music combines elements of traditional tango with folkloric Argentinian, Mexican and Cuban songs to reflect the lineage and influence of the tango tradition.

Tickets are $100 with all proceeds to go to the Becker/Gambles Music Fund. Click here for a ticket registration form.

Since 2002, the Becker/Gambles Music Fund has funded summer music lessons and scholarships for South Country students in grades 4 through 11, conducted master classes and provided cultural enrichment opportunities for our students and community.
