The Village Hall is the Village's nerve center. It's the place where all
"behind the scene" things take place that make the Village what it is.
If you have a question about the Village, these are the people to ask
and, if you've ever had to deal with any governmental agency on an
official level before, you're in for a very pleasant experience. They
are the best!

Firework
Displays in the Village of Bellport
Firework displays are a regulated
event, which must meet strict guidelines to ensure the health, safety
and welfare of all persons involved.
The Village of Bellport has a permit
process that requires our fire marshal to review the proposed firework
display site. He or she must determine that we meet the standards of the
National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) 1123 regulations. The NFPA
1123 regulations, require certain safety zones be established based upon
the size of the shell being launched. This process uses a range scope
and takes into consideration the forecast wind direction and velocity.
The application for a fireworks
permit includes a copy of the proposed safety zone, a list of the
responsible persons, the time and the place of the display and a copy of
any required insurance documents. In addition it is the sponsors
responsibility to notify the area residences of the fireworks display.
The village takes an additional
safety precaution and notifies our local fire department and ambulance
services.
It is with communication explaining
a process with the village residences that our quality of life can be
preserved.

Bellport Village
Centennial Celebration Postponed
"Bellport Centennial Celebration has been postponed due
to the past uncertainty and change on the Village Board. We would be
doing the Village an injustice if we were to just throw something
together in only a month and a half. The committee has decided to look
into having an aerial photo taken either at the four corners or down at
the dock sometime in October 2008. The village hall will contact
the residents with the time and place of this event which will
commemorate the year of 1908. Then in 2009 we will use this time to
prepare for 2010 which will be the big celebration and firework
display. If any resident wishes to be a part of the centennial
celebration committee please contact Katie Mehrkens at Village Hall
286-0327."
