Don't be afraid to call "911." They are there to help!
New Phone Number For
Non-Emergency Police Calls!
Even though the police have wanted us to, many people are reluctant to call 911 for non-emergency police issues. It might be a loud party, or a barking dog, and rather than call 911 people don’t call at all.
A new non-emergency police number for residents to call with “quality-of-life complaints" has been created for Suffolk Country residents, 852-COPS (852-2677). This service will free up 911 operators for true emergencies, while providing citizens with an avenue for calling the police about non-life-threatening situations. From now on, 911 should only be used for true emergencies.
Remember…
Dial 852-COPS For Non-Emergency Police Calls in Suffolk County.
Hurricane Preparedness
Hurricanes are a fact of life on Long Island. To help you prepare for a
storm, Senator Foley has prepared a Hurricane Survival Guide. It
contains “preparations and procedures for virtually every hurricane
scenario. The guide also contains hurricane surge maps which are useful
in understanding how different areas might be impacted by hurricanes of
varying intensity. Also within this guide are important phone numbers,
lists, tips and tear sheets for use at home and at work.”
In addition, we are providing a link to additional “Storm Surge”
information and the location of Emergency Shelters in the area.
We urge you to take a look and print out a copy of Senator Foley’s
Hurricane Survival Guide for reference. In the event of an emergency,
Bellport.com will notify you of any additional information that we
receive.
The Suffolk County Office of Emergency Management, Phone 631-852-4900, will assist people during emergencies.
